What happens to my volmail account when I leave the University?
You will retain your Volmail account indefinitely after leaving the University. Before you graduate or leave the university, we encourage you to set up your Volmail password options BEFORE your NetID has been deleted from the UT Directory . Your NetID will be deleted from the UT Directory one year after graduating or leaving UT.
Does OIT back up my Microsoft 365/volmail account?
Microsoft 365/Volmail accounts are not backed up by Microsoft, and OIT is unable able to restore files from backup should they be inadvertently deleted. You will retain your Volmail account indefinitely after leaving the University.

If your UT Email or Volmail account has been locked due to repeated failed login attempts, please contact the OIT HelpDesk. Your Display Name is the name that appears in the UT Online Directory and on your UT email. You can change your Display Name by updating your “Known As” name in IRIS (IRIS Personal Data Form).
