Even if you want to appeal just a single SAT question, the entire test will be re-scored by hand, then reviewed by a panel, at a cost to you of $50. (Essays may be challenged only on the grounds of a processing error, not on what the readers thought about your prose.)

You can request Hand Score Verification for up to five months after your original test date. As I mentioned in the first section, there is a fee of $55 for Hand Score Verification for either multiple choice or the essay.
