Malkit Singh was born in Hussainpur and raised in Nakodar in Punjab. Malkit moved to Birmingham in 1984 on the basis of an arranged marriage. He was engaged and then got married to the then Bhujhangy Group Tarlochan Singh Bilga’s niece. Malkit’s first album was released in 1986 called Nach Giddhe Vich.
