What is rubber cord stock?
Rubber cord stock, sometimes called O-ring cord stock, is used to create custom seals and is often vulcanized. Aflas rubber cord stock has superior resistance to steam.
What is a EPDM rubber cord?
EPDM rubber cord is made of a synthetic elastomer. The EPDM rubber cords exhibit outstanding heat, ozone, weather, and heat resistance and have excellent electrical insulating properties. EPDM rubber cord has a lower cost than Neoprene® while offering many of the same properties.
What is rubber cord?
Precisely manufactured Rubber Cords are meant for sealing applications at the place where accurate size o-ring is not present. Therefore, these are designed with high quality of raw materials, contemporary techniques and modern machines.
What is solid rubber?
Most people are familiar with the type of solid rubber used in manufacturing being similar to that of a car tire. It also has a wide variety of uses as a gasket or a seal. Solid rubber has almost all the same properties as foam rubber except without the cushion created by air.
What is O-ring material?
O-rings are mechanical gaskets with a round cross section. They are used to prevent gas and fluid leaks in static and dynamic applications and are manufactured from various types of elastomers. Some of the common types of O-ring materials include PTFE, Nitrile (Buna), Neoprene, EPDM Rubber and Fluorocarbon (Viton).
How do you glue O rings?
A spliced o-ring is when you take extruded o-ring cord stock, cut it to length, and then bond the two ends together with cyanoacrylate (Super Glue TM). This works fine in a pinch and can give you a successful seal, but that is not what we mean by vulcanized.
What is foam cord?
Foam cord is a solid, round-edged strand of synthetic material that’s commonly used for creating gaskets, pads, spacers, and stoppers. The foam is made up of air-filled cells that provide insulation, cushioning, and shock absorption in sealing and gap-filling applications.
What is the shape of rubber cord?

What is hard rubber made of?
Hard rubber is a plastic. The bulk of today’s hard rubber is made with SBR synthetic rubber. Other types of synthetic rubbers, such as butyl or nitrite or, in rare cases, silicone or polyacrylic, can also be used.
What is the softest rubber?

What is solid rubber made of?
Currently, rubber is harvested mainly in the form of the latex from the rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis) or others. The latex is a sticky, milky and white colloid drawn off by making incisions in the bark and collecting the fluid in vessels in a process called “tapping”.
What are cheap o-rings made of?
Neoprene. Some O-rings are made of neoprene. Also known as polychloroprene, neoprene is a type of synthetic, manmade rubber.
