The answer is simple, really. Many pastel goths don’t listen to goth music, they mix two cultures/aesthetics that don’t mix well together, they misrepresent goths, they don’t even look goth and pastel is actually gaining popularity with marketing and the public, contrary to how actual goth is treated.
