Does Stryd work on treadmill?
Yes. Using Stryd indoors is a great way to capture running power as well as pace and distance. Stryd does not rely on GPS, and can be used in any environment to measure distance, pace, power and all other metrics. An additional benefit: Stryd will report true treadmill pace and distance.
Is Stryd more accurate than treadmill?
It knows the displacement from one stride to the next and, from that info, the speed you are running at on the treadmill. The reported pace and distance from your Stryd pod will be a far better representation of your true running speed.
What does a soft reset do Stryd?
Soft Reset: This reboots the device, preserving the system clock through the restart on 2.1. 16 or higher. It does not affect any data stored on the Stryd.
Does Stryd need calibration?
Stryd is designed to be accurate out of the box and often does not require calibration. There is some variability across devices and runners.
How accurate is the Stryd Footpod?
Stryd is very accurate out of the box, and calibration is not required for most runners. If you are interested in verifying this, you need to test it against a known distance. We recommend using a track. From experience, we know that even certified competition tracks can be off up to 1%.
How can I make my treadmill more accurate?
You can improve the readings a few ways:
- When setting up your watch, do the stride length test on the treadmill.
- Opt for a watch like the Garmin Forerunner or Coros Pace which has a calibrate treadmill feature.
- Try using a foot pod (though tests I’ve seen say it’s as accurate as a calibrated watch)
Does Stryd use GPS?
(Stryd doesn’t use or provide GPS data, it uses accelerometers. Depending on the watch, the data from Stryd can be combined with the Watch’s GPS data so that Stryd gives distance and pace, and the watch’s GPS can be used for navigation.) Elevation.
Can you use Stryd for walking?
Stryd needs to get out of power saving mode, which requires a cadence higher than 120 SPM (i.e. jog at 5+ mph) for about a minute. Every sport has its own unique dynamics — we’re just focusing on running and walking for right now. Stryd will not work well for soccer, ski-touring, basketball, etc.
Is my Stryd dead?
If the light does not come on, try an alternative outlet or USB port. If the LED light is pulsing orange, then your Stryd is charging. Keep Stryd on the charger until you see the LED light turn solid.
How long does Stryd battery last?
20 hours
With a full charge of the battery Stryd will give you up to 20 hours of actual run time. Additionally, there is an internal flash drive that will store up to 9 hours of run data that you can upload to the mobile app at your leisure post run.
