Can I run along the Thames Path?
There aren’t a lot of parks or trees in this area, but there is some fine running along the Thames Path. It’s a pretty seamless 5–mile loop around the perimeter of the Docklands/Canary Wharf.
How far is the Thames Path Challenge?
10 – 11 Sept 2022 Over 3000 adventurers will join the Putney Bridge start, and the full 100 km route heads upstream all the way to Henley along the famous Thames Towpath. It’s through Richmond, Hampton Court, Runnymede, and Windsor, with some wonderful historic scenery en-route to a riverside finish line.

The Thames Path is a National Trail following the River Thames from its source near Kemble in Gloucestershire to the Thames Barrier at Charlton, south east London. It is about 184 miles (296 km) long.

Thanks to good paths, the vast majority of the Thames Path can be walked all year round.
Is Thames Path safe?
I walk the Thames path around Putney quite a bit (but on the south side), and it’s basically a very safe area. Even after dark there are a lot of people around.
Where does the Thames Path start and finish?
The walk starts at the source in Kemble and ends at the Thames Barrier just after Greenwich. We have divided the route into four sections so you can complete the route over a few holidays if you don’t have the time to walk it in one go. The Thames starts as a small trickle just outside Kemble.

Total Climb: 1900 feet. 11th Annual. The 100 mile course is a marked point to point race which takes runners from Richmond in South West London to the centre of Oxford. The course follows the meandering route of the Thames against it’s flow and is flat and fast with the majority on groomed paths/ trails and paved pathway.
What are the best places to run in London?
Running along the Thames River embankment is one of the running/tourist treats of London. It’s a great way to see some of the sights, while also getting some exercise in. What’s also nice is that the main bridges of central London are fairly close together, so it’s easy to do loops of various lengths.
